Team Charter Analysis
Team X is comprised of four different people with varying personalities, listening skills, trust levels, and emotional intelligence. These four factors will undoubtedly have an impact on the team’s performance on assignments. In order to manage effectively the challenges that may arise due to disparity among personalities, listening skills, trust levels, and emotional intelligence, Team C completed a team charter prior to engaging in any problem-solving coursework. The team charter will serve as a roadmap to avoiding obstacles that may occur due to the diversity among teammates. By addressing the differences among team members and setting expectations at the inception of Team X, the team charter will improve performance leading to high grades on assignments.
First, the Team X Charter shows that members have two common personality traits in that all members are extroverts and all prefer to make decisions based on objective thought processes. Extraversion is important because extroverts benefit in situations involving interaction with others and a team atmosphere (Bell, 2007). According to the Jungian 16-type personality test (2007), all members prefer to make decisions based on thinking versus feeling. This means that each member approaches decision-making in a logical, analytical manner and is focused on producing results. The differences exposed in the team charter among members in Jungian 16-type personality test (2007) scores are sensing and intuition as well as judging and perceiving. These differences will serve to balance out each other and give teammates different perspectives. We will be able to focus on the fine points of data as well as see a more abstract broad view of the problem. Furthermore, Team X is composed of members who excel at organization and planning while others who are more flexible. Again, these differences will offer stability within the team.
