It finally was the 15th of August, a very special day for me. This is because I was turning 13 this day. I woke up feeling excited. The first one to wish me was my mother. She was the one who woke me up and hugged me. What a start to the crazy teen years!
A feeling of excitement arose in me when my parents told me they were taking me to Dubai Mall. I braced myself up for my first glimpse of freedom. But the best part was yet to come. I was surprised and happy to see my friends there too! My parents gave me Dhs 1000 to spend and allowed me to do anything in the mall until sundown, and left me there.
We thought of getting acquainted with the surroundings more. And that is what we did. We first watch the movie The Conjuring in the movie theatre. We munched popcorn, drank cola and had a lot of fun. I bought Beats headphones for Dhs 700 and I gave Dhs 150 as my share for the arcade. We rode all crazy rides and played many of the games in the arcade. We went on the roller coaster, tidal wave and many other crazy rides, and played games like the mini hockey and mini basketball.
Then it was time for us to have lunch. I could smell the aroma of fresh chicken and tasty French fries even as I entered the food court. I spent Dhs 50 on the food. We bought a delicious party box from KFC and I ordered a separate burger from McDonalds as well. After we had food, we decided to play until it was sundown. On the way to the exit, I bought a stylish Nike T-Shirt from the sports shop.
From the mall, my friends and I headed to my home to distribute the gifts. I was thrilled as it was the best part of a party. It turned out that my parents bought me a PlayStation 3. They also presented me with 2 mind blowing games, along with it. My friends jointly bought me an Xbox alongside 3 games, a Caterpillar watch and an Adidas jacket, to name a few……..
These gifts were to have a lasting impression about their friendship, as they must have known that I like the stuff they gave me.
