Nutrition
Why is nutrition Important?
Nutrition is very important for everyone. The bottom line is that nutrition provides our bodies with energy to function. Nutrition makes major parts of the human body function and work properly such as the brain and muscles and it also helps our body be more coordinated. Good nutrition contributes to everything we do; the human body cannot function without it, and would not run well without good nutrition.
The Importance of Nutrition for Teens
Nutrition is vital for everyone but it is especially crucial for teens. Nutrition is especially important for teenagers because the teenage years are a critical growth period for boys and girls. During the teenage years, the person’s body is growing significantly and changing rapidly. The body changes in nearly every aspect from things such as bone growth all the way to hormonal changes. Good nutrition can help teenagers in two major aspects:
1) Achieve optimal growth
2) Reduce the risk of developing chronic diseases such as diabetes, osteoporosis and cardiovascular diseases.
Nutrition Essentials for Teens
The body of a boy or girl changes significantly during the teenage years and because it is growing rapidly, the body needs many nutrients in order to supply the demands of the body’s changes. In order for teenagers to achieve their full growth potential, they must consume adequate amounts of the nutrient rich foods the body needs to develop and stay healthy.
Consuming the proper nutrients will boost the performance of a person in many areas such as athletics, academics, and even attitude. To reach your full growth potential, you need a host of essential nutrients and dietary factors. This includes things such as consuming adequate carbohydrates, protein, fat, and fiber.
