Introduction
Growing up in the seventy’s, I have witnessed the television media Industry evolve dramatically since its invention. I recall the days when the media would not allow one to as much as say a three letter cuss word. Now, you have it all; the media have become the medium in which society has been transformed today. In my household, we had a 13 inch, turn dial, black and white television that my brother and I would have to share. This is a big difference compared to today’s high definition televisions, some of which come equipped with other media devices such as D.V.D. players.
The media industry has changed dramatically since my youth. Every time you turn on the television nowadays, all you see depicted by the media in my opinion is violence, tragedies like the most recent Sandy Hook shootings where such innocence and children were lost. The media forces one to relive events over and over and over again, which I feel, is one of the negatives about television. We live in a time nowadays where, television has had such a profound effect on society, the government, business, the youth, our schools, etc. The list could go on and on.
