Determination paid off, as Director Takolkiet Boy Veeravan has succeeded in bring to life the tragic classic novel, behind the painting, renowned for its literary and romantic intrigue. The show not only attracted many theatre enthusiasts, but also created a magical moment of musical theatre in Thailand. The music was literally composed, the cast were superstitious impressive. Many people left the theatre with a good memory. That’s why the director is called “Father of Musical theatre”, the musical shows that he composed, Double world,From sand to sky or cloud throne , never disappointed the audiences.
The three dimensional scenes of the train station, a pond or a seaport are extravagance and shocked the audience. Mitake waterfall scene is the scene that is already being widely in the theatrical circle. The scene occurs in the middle stage involves with the water flow over the stage for 15 minutes. As the performers sing, the trees sway and the multi color leaves fall. The atmosphere are like the audience are actually are in Japan. However, ActII looked a bit dull as they switch back to use of two dimensional scenes. It is incomparable to act I. Nevertheless, the creations, made by Sasawat Bussayapan, surely marked a memorable moment for all the audiences.
The director lets the two characters, Nopporn and MR Kirati, express emotional plight and inner feeling through beautifully compose song and dance. The director should earn a lot of credit for attempting to represent the novel in more fashion. The rhythm of the show is proportional. Act one is presented very fast in order to cover all the main point of the novel. The love of two characters is developed to show that they are falling in love. Moreover, the Mitake scene and the song, “hak Chan mee Kwam Ruk(If I only have love)” , heighten the romance. Act II focused on dramatic inner feeling scene.
