I believe Illinois State University is a good fit for my educational goals because I have personally seen my sister go through the academic process. I know that the atmosphere is phenomenal wherever you go near Illinois State. I have personally visited there numerous times for different occasions and each time it offers you a taste of college life and the hardships that academic deadlines can give to a student attending. They also have great programs for Criminal Justice, Psychology, and Accounting all in which peak my interest. Illinois State is a well-known University and would love to continue my education as a Redbird.
I’m very collaborative and enjoy working with people. If someone needs help with an assignment I will go and help them within a drop of a penny, because I know they will do the same back for me. I really enjoy working with numbers, ever since a young age I have loved math and being able to figure out difficult equations even though some may take ten minutes to solve. Also, I will never allow myself to fail in anything especially academics, it means too much to myself and the future. I believe my biggest weakness is getting frustrated because I am such a perfectionist. I can become enraged when having trouble with a question even if I get a half point off; because I know I was able to get the answer right. I have very high expectations for myself, some say higher then they should be. But the sky is the limit to me and if I believe I can get better or exceed in a certain aspect in life I will work harder than anyone you know.
There are always distractions for everybody doing anything especially academics. The most minuscule thing may catch your attention and your fixated on it, you have to be able to stay focused no matter what the circumstances are and I learned that the hard way. Freshmen and sophomore year caught me by surprise and threw me in a whirlwind. You feel like you know what to expect from your sisters going through it also, yet...
