for being agressive in battle. The battle of vimy ridge is know today as one of the greatest battles in canadian history and was considered a turning point in world war one. At this point vimy ridge was controlled by german forces and was heavily fortified by 3 layers of trenches, barbed wire, and numerious tunnels, France had attempted a takeover of vimy ridge but resulted in 150,00 french causualties. The takover of vimy ridge was a huge succes thanks to general Arthur Currie's battle tactics to have all the four divisions charge for one point instead of spliting up.
