In the course of last semester it has been discovered that the Devil’s Den is operating improperly and there are many rules that need to be implemented and changed. Findings from observations have made it apparent that improper events are taking place at the Den. Most of the managers and employees who work at the Den are students and due to this fact are given many opportunities, but they take this chances to take advantage of the business and so they not only eat for free during their lunch hour but they take food with them when they leave, and also they provide their friends with food during school hours. Mostly everyone has access to the storage room, which is a place where inventory is kept and where only designated people should enter. Students who come to work in this place are not motivated to work or given opportunities to succeed in the future. There are no longer managers interested in the productivity of their employees and also employees who put effort in working for the Den. This issue has come so far that immediate changes need to be implemented in order to create a proper business environment for the Den and bring up productivity.
A very strict and well trained management team is one of the solutions for the Den to be a success. The management team of the Devil’s Den needs to focus on creating a set of rules that would prevent future issues form happening. Even if the managers are students they have to be trained in order to direct the employees so that the Devil’s Den goals are accomplished and so be always willing to train. Motivation is the key to any type of work area, and so a good manager can motivate his/her employees, they should also learn from previous mistakes and try to gain knowledge from them.
