The Gym

My Gym
The gym has always been an important fixture in my life. I go to the gym to relax when I feel stressed or to work out when I have energy and just want to get out of the house. I have belonged to many different gyms. Each one had its own atmosphere and uniqueness. Out of all the gyms that I have belonged to, my current gym offers the widest range of features that are important to me. These features include the vast variety of up-to-date machines and amenities that I have become accustomed to. While there are some features I miss from my previous gyms, I know that no matter where I chose to work out, I would have to make some compromises. This gym, however, has a much better balance of what I am looking for than the other gyms near my home.
From the outside, this gym can be mistaken for an industrial warehouse or a huge office building that is brick and glass. The landscaping is perfectly manicured. A large statue symbolizing strength greets each member as they drive into the massive parking lot. As it is late, there is plenty of up front parking spaces. When I have tried to come earlier in the day, I often must park in the very back and have a short hike to the door.
In order to enter the building, I must pass through a large atrium style entrance. I open the glass doors and am immediately greeted with the smell of fresh towels. The usual attendants are working. They are wearing their black shirts and folding the towels at the front desk. Although they pop out the company mandated greeting, they seem pleasant and familiar. I give them my card, which has my picture on it, to swipe and they hand it back to me.
As I pass though the lobby, I am reminded that this is the largest gym I have ever been in. The front lobby is expansive with a large greeting area and televisions. The entryway is open and I can see the workout area on the floor above through the glass railing. I am also able to see the salon and spa on the left and the cafe on the right....
