The integrative leadership approach involves multiple leadership variables instead of just a couple. Some characteristics of this type of leader would be, leadership development is ultimately self-development; it is about people and process, whereas management is about the work and goals, both are needed to succeed; building meaningful relationships with others; leaders are learners through experience, acquiring mentors or coaches, and education/training (“What Is Integrative Leadership?”, 2011). Those are a few characteristics to say the least and can be combined in many ways but ultimately it addresses multiple perspectives and self-growth.

With the constant changes taking place in today’s work society the evolution of smarter technology, demands from employees and consumers, and competing organizations, it is hard to keep everything in control at times. Businesses also have to think about how to make an impact in the global socio-economic framework over the next decade. The foundation behind every business is its employees and happy employees will have the organizations best interest at heart, therefore helping the business succeed with all the demands.
