In history, therehave been many, many outlooks on what the messiah is, or what they do. The Jews had many different views themselves on how the messiah works. There was the one where the Messiah is an Oracle, there’s a view that the messiah isa prophet, there is a Priest Messiah, and there is also just a normal messiah. All of them of course have a couple things in common. One of the major ones being that the messiah comes when the people are in desperate need of a leader, or cleanser.
