The Nestlé Corporation is implementing a International Marketing & Sales Trainee (IMST) Career Development and once an employee has successfully completed the program many opportunities will be available. One such opportunity is that employees will be asked to make a long-term commitment to carry out a series of 3 to 5 year assignments abroad, moving from one country to another and will have an opportunity to work in many parts of the world, especially in emerging markets. Assignments abroad will an extensive knowledge of the global business, and a wider range of management skills and the development of an in-depth understanding of cultural differences, and an insightful appreciation of how these differences affect business, social situations and consumer preferences. Due to the interactive relationship between the Sales & Marketing functions this career path will allow development in both areas. Also an employee can become a Business Manager, Product Manager, Key Account Manager, or Consumer Marketing Manager or move into the area of Category Management or Trade Marketing. Thus by acquiring sufficient experience the employee would then be expected to take up a leadership positions at our International headquarters in Switzerland.
Employees must have a solid base for an exciting long-term career that will take them from one place in the world to another, typically for a period of 3-5 years in each location. It is fair to say that an expatriate career within Nestlé is more than just a career, it is a lifestyle.
