The Pedestrian

I believe in the years to come that with our escalating technology that the world will be vivacious with people going about in their own world made easier. Not to add all the fun new gadgets to learn about and become accustomed with. To me I feel as if the future will be a lively and exciting. In the pedestrian Bradbury talks about a lone man walking the desolate streets only hearing the faint push of his soft shoes through autumn leaves. In his short story he uses diction to heighten Mr. Meads desolate walk through the streets at 8 pm. His words show us that he thinks of the future as a grim place where streets are as unpopulated similar to graveyards. During the summer my sister, her friends, sometimes mine and I would all go to the midnight movies held at cinema world. One time it was my sister Michelle and our friend Chris we went to see scar face and after it got out at 3am we decided to head over to checkers on our way the streets were clear it was almost as if we were the only people out and awake. It felt as if everyone and everything was shut down by the way the lights all lit up green for us having no one else to let go as well as when we drove past the lake Washington crossing and turned into checkers there was not a car in the entire lot. Its almost in a way how Bradbury is portraying the streets in 2053.
It was 8pm when Mr. Mead began his excursion for fresh air and to see the town on the streets, it was a silent, misty November evening. The diction he uses when he says silent and misty leads me to believe that he is trying to show that not a soul is out, as he is leaving the winds and his sneakers soft sound are the only noise he hears. As for misty I think its to show the eeriness of the streets when in being alone. He then goes into saying when he walks the concrete buckles and you have to step over grassy seams to make your way.
