The Gulf war is a conflict between Iraq and UN coalitions, mostly led by United States. The mission was to liberate Kuwait and prevent Iraq from taking over Kuwait. The Gulf War had a great impact on Kuwait socially and economically, the process of rebuilding the economy has been hard for Kuwait.
First, Iraq finally invades Kuwait, its oil-exporting country, on August 1990, United States and 35 other nations were involved in this war because the United Nations wanted to get Kuwait back from Iraq.
The fifth say of the war, United States started to deploy Army, Navy, Marine, Air Force, and Coast Guards to Saudi Arabia, where the military base was located at. Before sending the equipment, U.S. informed Saudi Arabia that we (U.S.) don’t go into the country fast, that Iraq will harm Saudi in no time. In Saudi Arabian side, they didn’t want that to happen; so they helped U.S. settle in the country and supported financially and militarily. In the 30th day in the desert, the operation also known as Operation Desert Storm; 13 Nations and United States starts to attack Iraq with ground force that U.S. and other nations had.
The war was called in numerous different names because of historical, political, and journalistic views and other groups and regions. Such as, Gulf War, Persian Gulf War, War in the Gulf, 1990 Gulf War, Gulf War Sr., First Persian Gulf War – since there is Second Persian Gulf war going on this moment since 2003. Most Americans’ used to describe this war as “Operation Desert Storm,” also the term Operation Desert Storm was mostly used in Military secret forms. The Germans had a different name for this conflict; it was Anglo-Iraqi War.
The act of United Nations during the war helped a lot throughout the War, U.N. ordered 35 Nations to support in the War to U.S. side to help get Kuwait back and running.
