Popular American Culture
Popular culture is everything that transpires in the society (Wilson & Wilson, 2001). America is home to several ethnicities and races. Americans are free to express him or herself spiritually and vocally. American popular culture consists of various things, such as reality television and the popularity of interracial dating. This essay will: identify patterns in the list of pop culture artifacts in the author’s inventory, discuss the commonality and theme in which each item belongs, place value on the items, and describe the extent to which the author believes the value of popular American culture affects her personal decision-making.
A few patterns occur when the author analyzes her inventory of popular culture artifacts. She notices her use of the Internet on her laptop is extremely higher than she assumes is ordinary. Internet access accounts for at least seven hours of her everyday routine. Her Play Station 3 is the way the household views movies, even though they possess two conventional digital videodisk (DVD) players. The flat screen television is in the living room with the Play Station 3. Even with the growing popularity of the Play Station 3, the author continues to devote more time playing the Play Station 2. She ignites a cigarette with a lighter, approximately once an hour. The toiletries are a part of several daily routines, but the majority of the usage, such as showering and tooth brushing, happen in the morning. The patterns clearly illustrate that entertainment utilizes the most noticeable percentage of her everyday life.
The inventory of artifacts the author accumulates consists of three prominent themes: entertainment, modern comforts, and toiletries. The most popular entertainment items in the inventory are Play Station 2 and 3, video games for the consoles, Internet, laptop, the high definition flat screen...
