Abstract:
Image fusion provides a mechanism to combine multiple images into a single representation to aid human visual perception and image processing tasks. Such algorithms aim to create a fused image containing the imported information from from each source image without introducing inconsistancies.
The proposed framework (GIFT) offers a ‘Plug & Play’ environment for the construction of n-dimensional multiscale image fusion methods.
The project deals with building a Genralized Image Fusion Toolkit (GIFT) in Labview which wil cater the need of various fields like defence system, remote sensing, robotics, medical imaging and biometrics.

Block Diagram Description:
1. Image Acquisition: Images from different sources or from database is acquired for fusion and given to the pre-processing block.
2. Pre-processing: Pre-processing involves measures such as removing noise, resizing, getting region of interest, cropping etc.
3. Image Fusion: Image fusion can be done at three different levels:
a. Pixel level
b. Feature level
c. Decision level
4. Image metric: The image metrics of original...
