Poe is the most recognized artist in the literature world. This man has brought the meaning of “gothic”. He has written so many poetry in his life time. But, the story that im going to talk about is “The Raven” and “The Simpsons Version” of the raven. In “The Simpsons” version is more accessible than Poe’s poem because affection, narrator, and insanity.
In “The Raven” and “The Simpsons” version there are some similarities. For example, affection, narrator, and insanity. These similarities are what best describes “The Raven” . Affection shows a lot in the poem for the lost of Lenore. Narrator are both different and describe in different ways to lead the reader into the poem. Insanity this word is what really brings the poem together into a masterpiece. These similarities is what brings the characteristics together.
In “the Raven” insanity is use in so many ways. Everything is so well describe . You can feel the character emotions. For example his craziness. Throughout the poem this emotion is constantly shown. The character is completely loosing his mind. He can’t even think straight and doesn’t know what he is doing. His insanity overpowers the real meaning of “The Raven” .
In “The Simpsons” version insanity is use in a different way. Homer’s feelings in this version is more anger than insanity. He gets so frustrated towards that poor harmless bird. And the fact that the raven won’t leave him alone makes him want to strangled the raven. Also Homer doesn’t really loose his mind. This is good with insanity out of the way. The story will be more understanding to the audience. You can better put yourself in his shoes with insanity not being shown too much in the poem.
Love is pretty tricky in the poem the raven. In the poem, you can’t really feel the love he has towards Lenore. His version is more selfish, it only interrupts the character . You almost forget it is even a love story! Poe...
