Title: The Singer's Dream
Is there anyone in this room, besides myself, still chasing after their childhood dream? My name is Tatiana Anderson, and I'm still on the chase to becoming a successful recording/ performing artist. However, becoming a successful recording/ performing artist is not as easy as it seem. I always had a love for music, and as a child I knew this was the career that I was definitely going to pursue no matter what. Today, I will talk about what it takes to become a successful recording artist. Specifically focusing on getting the proper training, possessing certain characteristics, and having a keen amount of knowledge about music, its history, its theory, the business factor, and last but not least, Finance. You must have financial support to get you where you need to be in this career.
What are the characteristics of a recording artist? During my interview with Richard Mcmichaels, a musician and songwriter and choir director from New York. He stated, and I quote, “ If there were no music, I could not imagine doing anything else. Music is my life!” He also stated that if anyone really wanted to pursue this career, You have to be very passionate about it and good at your craft. There are many individuals who were born with the talent to sing, but the people that make it are more passionate and full of determination. Young people considering this career should have musical talent, versatility, creativity, poise, and a good stage presence. Also according to the Cosmopolitan Magazine; February 2006 Vol. 240 issue, Beyonce Knowles, a well know recording artist, stated during an interview that in order to become very successful in the music industry particularly that field, an artist must be self-disciplined, independent, self- confident and hardworking. And you must have a unique personality/ appearance.
