The use of technology has allowed people to have access to almost anything while decreasing the amount of control that they have over it. Many studies have shown technology to be the number one addiction to man-kind. Although there are many benefits that technology has provided for us, the people of our generation have less common sense, are lazier, and have more health hazards due to the modern use of technology.
Although technology is bad for a person’s well-being, there are people who believe we are better off with its existence. It is true that the things being invented have come a long way since the years of bandwagons, and churning milk. We owe this to power, and intelligence to the human mind; the efforts of mankind have resulted in the introduction of new methods, and uncovering’s. Surprisingly, many things found have been done so accidentally. Our lives are now easy, more comfortable, and things and people are easier to access. Playing outside, figuring out math problems on pen and paper, and people having to walk, or ride, for miles to deliver messages are slowly fading away. Cars, internet, computers, cell-phones, calculators, satellites, and rockets are the new gadgets; work hardly has to be done by us. Communicating can be very beneficial. As stated before, we do not have to wait days, or even months, for a person’s message. This can now be done instantly at the touch of a few buttons (Benefits of Technology 1). Emergencies, and important situations are most in need of immediate services, therefore this is a great asset to have. For those people who live far from their loved ones, they cannot only hear their loved one’s voices, but they are able to see them face to face using live chats like Skype and Ovoo.
