The Truth About Truth
Truth is a very interesting concept to grasp, because of how much it’s misunderstood. Truth is an intangible and abstract idea; therefore it is not as solid or unchanging as it is thought to be. Ironically, truth is not absolute but it is subjective and is only metaphorical. As stated truth is not absolute this can be observed though examples. Assume the following to be truth: the car is blue. Now that we understand that, is it possible that the car will always be blue? The answer is no. In this situation, over time the color of the car can change either through natural causes or though the human element of the owner painting over the color of the car. Therefore though this definition the truth can be temporary but this is not all that the truth can be. The truth can also be taken subjectively. To find that the truth is subjective, one would only have to find a difference of opinion. Leading back to the originally stated example: the car is blue. What is really being seen is an example of the definition of truth. Therefore, truth can not be physically perceived, making truth a prime example of an abstract thought. So as the example above can prove, the understanding of truth needs to be clarified; Truth is...
