The Cold War brings its long-term appearance to the scene, after World War II. During the Cold War the two big countries, one is the United States and second is the Soviet Union were in stable disagreement about the way the world should be decree. The United States try to stop the spread of the communism through out Europe and the rest of the world. Some of the examples that tie in the containment policy are the Marshall Plan, which give economic aid to Europe in addition to that the Vietnam War and the Korean War did not succeed.

The Korean War was one of the most major conflicts. As the time pass, people seem to not remember about it, and now we call it the “forgotten war”. The United States reacted in terror when she realized the potential danger of having the strategic Korean peninsula controlled by communist forces. It began in June 25 1950, at the end of WWII the Korea was divided at the 38th parallel into two parts, one were the Soviet (North Korea), and the United States (South Korea). The North was the Communist and the South was the Republic. During 1950 North Korean forces almost pushed the United States forces off the peninsula. In September the United States launched a surprise attack on the North which pushes the North over 38th parallel. The Chinese fear that the United States and the South would enter Chinese territory, so they aid the North. In January 1951, the Chinese pushed the United States and the South back to 38th parallel. On November 29, 1952 United States president Dwight D.Eisenhower went to Korea to find a way that could end the war. On July 27, 1953 cease fire was signed. The North and South were back to 38th parallel.
The Korean War and the Vietnam War was an example of the Unite States failure to stop communist. I do not suppose containment policy work, it was ineffective.
