Each student is given the same amount time to finish their course work but some succeed while some fail. The key to succeeding is time management. Time management can be done in two ways one is to manage your time and the second is manage your goals.
When we are given a long term project we turn it into a short term project by saving it for the last minute and procrastinating. To be efficient we have to have a time management schedule and it should divide our calendar into three the first being term calendar, weekly schedule and daily to-do list. In your term calendar you should have your deadlines and major quizzes. This will keep you organized throughout the whole year. A big paper can be broken down into smaller papers and goals.
Weekly schedule will help you see how you are managing your time within that week. For what is your time being occupied and what or where do you need more time. Making a graphic schedule helps you understand how much time you have left in the day to study and do assignments.
Making a to-do list is a good way of keeping track of the new day’s assignments. Before going to bed make a to-do list and then as you complete each task cross it out. This will keep the student on track of what he has to do. Though not a schedule it is very intentional.
After knowing what you have to do each day and the amount of material you have. The next step is to utilize your time properly. Using early morning to study is better than studying after dinner. It gives more time to relax and study. Having a routine of how you will spend your time is a very good way to keep everything on track. Use small chunks of time to review the previous day’s material. Sleeping consistently will give you structure to your day. Make it a point to have breakfast and schedule your day. Learning to say no is very important. Your academics...
