Developing as a Student

As College students, Many of us discover, sooner rather than later, the need to develop our time management skills. Unlike high school where teachers structured your assignments and classes are an all day affair, in college, you are presented with less time inside the classroom, and more work to be done on your own time. With less time in classes, in turn students receive a great deal of freedom and flexibility. Some students excel, while others quickly find themselves falling behind in class and unable to reach their deadlines. As a collegian athlete myself, I can also speak for athletes, and their troubles with time management academically. The good news is, theres way to stop this problem and using different techniques students can achieve a less stressful way of college life.
The college lifestyle is fun, exciting, and will be over before you know it. Theres a variety of things going on around a campus like ours, and with friends and the city of boston right down the street it is inevitable to not have a good time. Students need to make money don’t they? A vast majority of Students carry a job during the semesters working at local restaurants or fast food places. This is another priority one must juggle along with a five or in some cases six class workload. Another area where students get in trouble with concerning there academic standing, is alcohol. With every college you have your drinking and partying, and even though most adults would tend to think that this drinking is going on during the weekends they would be surprised by the number of students who indulge in booze on school nights. The most popular night being thursday, this night has a well known nickname, thirsty thursday. Where this becomes a problem is many students have class early the next morning and will not attend because they are hungover. Not attending class will damage a student in two ways.
