To Lie, Is One of the 7 Army's Values

I am going to start off my essay on the importance of the Army values by giving you all the definition of a lie used as a (noun): a lie is a false statement made with deliberate intent to decieve; an intentional untruth; a falsehood. 2. Lie: Something intended or serving to convey a false impression; imposture. 3. Lie: An inaccurate or false statement. 4. Lie: the charge or accusation of lying. Now I will give you the definition of a lie used as a (verb) 1. To speak falsely or utter the truth unknownly, as with intent to decieve. On Friday, November 6, 2009 this is the action that was taken by me PFC Greenwood. I walked into the kitchen and SGT Marshall a (NCO) non- commisioned officer in the United States Army who is stationed here at Fort Carson, COand works at the 18th Fires BDE dfac (for those of you who didn’t know). On this morning SGT Goodwin was looking like he was cooking something on the stove when he stopped what he was doing to ask me how was pt this morning... In my mind I’m thinking SGT Marshall must know I didn’t go to pt this morning because he never asks how was pt….This is a smart question so I then replied to SGT Marshall with a smart answer (lie) it was fine SGT… He (SGT Marshall) then asked what we did for pt…I stated “they ran and you know I walk SGT”, He then asked me if my 1SG was there…now knowing that I wasn’t at pt but I was thinking maybe he’s (SGT Marshall) trying to test me so I said yes he was there…..He (SGT Marshall) then repeated “oh he was” I said yes SGT and he (SGT Marshall) was like ok….I then proceeded to move out….after I left from talking to SGT Marshall I felt bad for lying bc this is not an action that I normally take…but since I wasn’t approached straight forward I just went with the flow…. After that a soldier came to me and said SGT Marshall knows you didn’t go to pt this morning and you should go admit it…the soldier also stated that SGT Marshall discussed what my punishment would be for lying and not going...
