In my country, Viet Nam, November 20th is Teacher’s Day or Vietnamese Educator’s Day. This day became a holiday not only for teachers but for all students. There was a lot of interesting activity in preparation for greeting it in advance. For instance, good marks competitions which students try their best to have good marks; writing competitions, the prizes will be given for the classes or students have the best notebooks. Especially, students also write poets or essays about their teachers, and after that, they was presented on wall-newspapers in school’s exhibitions. Furthermore, students always visit their teacher’s home with flowers and small gifts. That activity is organized inside each class and always very exciting.

A day for teachers like that should to be a custom in all country. As we know, even in Viet Nam or other countries, teachers are always be respected by everybody. Each of us have our own teachers, they may be the ones who taught you in high school, in university or maybe only the one who you admire as your teacher because of his advices. After your parents, they are the persons who give you many knowledge and experiences. A good teacher, with his dedication and enthusiasm, can instruct his students not only how to do an difficult arithmetic problem but also how to be a good person. A teacher can give his knowledge to hundreds or even thousands of students in his whole lifetime. That’s really a hard and great work.

Furthermore, Teacher’s day is also a chance for students express their honor to their teacher. As I mentioned above, there are many ways for students to welcome this day such as good marks, essays, poets, flowers or small gifts which are bought by their saving money. Those become wonderful prizes for their teachers. Especially with former students, who graduated for a long time, this day gives them an opportunity to visit their teacher’s home.
