Topic Proposal
The subject of my argumentative essay is about the Cigarette ban in public. I agree with the public smoking ban and think it’s a great idea. Some may argue it takes away a persons right to what they please, but it will help in many ways. Banning public smoking will eliminate or diminish the pollution smokers leave into our ecosystem. Debris and trash will decrease so we can put a stop to cigarette buds and ashes being everywhere.
I’m interested in this topic because as nasty a habit smoking is, it also brings nothing but problems to everyone. I agree with the smoking ban because it can help eliminate the high amount of lung cancer and other body failures and illnesses caused by smoking. Smokers seem unaware that by them smoking continuously in public not only does their health become a victim but others like family and friends around them do to.
This topic can and will be of interest to others, maybe not to all but a mass majority of peers. There are several main reasons why this smoking ban is effective. The audience I wish to reach are those who smoke excessive amounts of cigarettes a day. I am not only writing this essay and researching to strengthen the ban but also help save lives.
Smoking creates problems, not only for people around them but for our community and environment also. Smoking pollutes smoke and toxins into the air, it is inhaled daily by millions. Our communities should be beautiful, the skies should remain clear and our pathways should stay clear of cigarette buds and ashes.

Some may say, it’s in their right to smoke, whenever and wherever they please. Smoking is a choice; smokers know the harmful effects of tobacco. Putting others in harm for your decisions isn’t right. It is their right to puff a stick of lung cancer a day, but be considerate of the lives of the people around you.
