Parents should be fair when they are setting restrictions on their children. I think this because if children aren’t getting restrictions that are fair, then their parents are not treating them fairly. The restrictions that parents set on their children should be fair and reasonable or else there would be no reason in actually setting the restriction in the first place.
For example, my friend’s mom set a restriction on my friend. Instead of being able to enjoy his measly 2 hours of TV everyday, he can now only enjoy 1 hour of TV on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. My mom doesn’t allow me to watch Anime Channel anymore. She only lets me watch Cartoon Network from 7:30pm to 8:00pm. Then, my mom and my grandmother watch Chinese soap operas from 8:00pm all the way to 10:00pm and they just go to sleep. The same thing with my friend. His dad and his brother watch sports games and Comedy Channel until they fall asleep on the couch and don’t even bother turning off the TV.
I think parents should think twice before setting any kind of restrictions (including TV restrictions) on their children. They might be making themselves happy, but did they ever think about if it made their children happy? To be cheated out of they Television time, I don’t think anyone would be happy if that happened to them.
I believe that parents should stop setting restrictions on their children. Restrictions are mostly pointless words coming out of a parents’ mouth like wasted breath.
