Think You Know Government?
By now you have probably heard dozens of the similar arguments so I figured I’d try something new. This class is full of a mix of government positions, such as very conservative (that’d be me) and very liberal (that’d be Jonathan) and even some independents (that’d be Sara). Anyways I figured I’d question why it is you think Democracy or Communism or Socialism is the best form of government. Yes there are plenty other types of government, but these are the three most popular so deal with it. You want more go do some research.
As a young teenager, I had no clue why the Democratic Republic of the United States was the best form of government, but it was what I was told so I held it as fact. However as I entered my upperclassmen years of high school I really began to question how to determine which type of government was the best. As I learned from my history classes, I realized how distinct each government is. Communists, socialists, and autocrats have all argued that their governments are better than Democracy, but according to statistics Democracy is the most productive. Our form of democracy proved to be the most successful of them all for multiple reasons, including more involvement from the people, separation of powers, a governing Constitution, and government regulation by the people. Democracy allows for the best environment for success because it incorporates freedoms and progress into the government, leading to a driven economic and industrialized superpower. I want each one of you to question which government you believe is the best, and if you think you can make a better one than please take some time to create a better government than the one we have now in the U.S.
