Unconditional Love
The definition for love in the Webster-dictionary means strong affection, warm attachment, unselfish loyal and benevolent concern for others, cherish, feel passion, devotion, or tenderness. My perception of love is not hate, envy, or conditional. Love is infinite and unconditional to me because love never ends, it grows. I cannot explain why it is not for others, I can only express what I feel what love is. Love is eternally unconditional between a mother and her child. This love was tested in a story about a young woman who is my dearest friend, who had lost her children in the system, but inevitably reunited 15 years later.
It was the year of 2014. This woman named Nancy was driving her sister-in-law to Oklahoma. Half way down to Oklahoma out of the blue the phone rings Nancy answers it. There was this soft voice on the other end asking for Nancy, she said this is her and the voice said, “This is Annie.” Nancy began to cry saying, “oh my God my daughter”. Nancy asked her sister-in-law could drive because she have not heard or seen her child in 15 years. Nancy’s sister-in-law began to drive so that Nancy can talk to her daughter.
Nancy and Annie’s conversation was going well. Annie wanted her mother to come to Ohio to reunite with her. Nancy told her, “As soon as I get back from Oklahoma I will be down to Ohio to see you”. Nancy got back to Michigan, told her husband that her daughter had called her while on the way to Oklahoma telling her that she wanted to see her. Nancy’s husband was very understanding and new how much it meant for Nancy to reunite with her daughter. Nancy’s husband rented a car so she can go to Ohio to meet her daughter. Nancy and her husband made it to Ohio, met with Annie. As soon as Nancy saw her daughter she jumped out of the car running up to her wrapping her arms around her apologizing for how the circumstances...
