What are the advantages of having diversity in a collaborative learning environment?
Some advantages to having diversity in a collborative learning environment could be: Gathering more information and knowledge than you would be able to gain alone. Learning to work with many different types of people and cooperating to complete a common goal. Learning new types of learning styles and work ethic so further improve yourself. There are many other advantages to having diversity in a collaborative environment. Learning to accept people for who they are is another example of an advantage making it easier for employers to hire you due to the fact there is no one type of person you work best it. Being well rounded from working in a collaborative environment will open many new doors to you career wise and this makes a great advantage versus those who do not work in such an environment.
How might factors such as diversity, attitude, learning, and work styles affect collaboration?
Diversity, attitude, learning, and work styles can affect collaboration in many different ways. One way diversity could affect collaboration is either a good or bad, bad being someone that does not want to work with a person because of race or religion or just jealousy of their succes. A good affect would be someone that is open and willing to learning new things and change which would in turn better them for more career advancement or new opportunities. A persons attitude can have a very big affect on collaboration. If a person has a bad attitude about the way someone is working or just has a bad attitude about the work entirely this could bring down the overall morale of the collaborating group.
