US citizens are convinced legislation isn’t taking action. A strategy of enforcement. Some people think that is what our country needs. Erosion through enforcement may be the only option if we want to solve our illegal immigration problem. In the 2008 presidential campaign, stronger enforcement of keeping illegal immigrants out of the United States has been a main subject. Every year, millions of illegal immigrants come into the US; breaking the countries law and making it hard for the government to follow through with their laws. For those who pass the border, illegal immigrants have to make a living here in the US; meaning they need some sort of job to pay for their needs. Now, the government is getting more serious about this issue then before. Within the past 5 months, over 200 illegal immigrants have been arrested for having fake employment documents. Many of the targets are those who stayed in the US for previous deportation orders. By the end of this year, the multi-billion-dollar wall across the US-Mexican border should be built. This wall includes 670 miles of fencing to prevent illegal immigrants from crossing into the US. The Bush administration supports this move and is rushing for the wall to be finished. Others who oppose this think it is an absolute waste of money and time. Many think that it is more dangerous for those who attempt to cross into the US. Almost two-thirds of the immigrant population is illegal. Almost all of that two-thirds of those immigrants came into the country by sneaking past the border. In 1924, Congress produced the U.S. Border Patrol. The U.S. Border Patrol’s job is to stand on the border of the U.S. and Mexico and try to return any border-jumpers there are back to Mexico....
