Visual Argument Analysis: Population

Human population control is the practice of purposely altering the rate of growth of a human population. Historically, human population control has been resolved by limiting the population's birth rate, usually by government authorization, and has been initiated as a result to high or increasing levels of poverty, environmental concerns, religious reasons, and overpopulation. While population control can improve people's lives by giving them more control of their reproduction, some programs have exposed them to making use and benefiting from those resources. Worldwide, the population control movement was active throughout the 1960s and 1970s; this caused many reproductive health and family planning programs to birth.
This specific picture caught my attention because of its sole purpose, not its image. Population is the focus of the picture and is going to be the main analysis of the paper. The stork carrying all the babies has the word "Resources" on his body; that is a hot point to the visual argument. One last detail I noticed about the photo is that the stork looks absolutely exhausted, that is because he is carrying over 10 babies. We all know that’s now how the story is told! The image of the stork has a genre of non-fiction... I think? I get this by it telling me facts about how overpopulation is happening and we should begin to worry. This means the purpose is related to a real life event or story. The image definitely meets the expectations of that specific genre. Looking at the photo for less than a minute, it was easy to tell what the purpose was.
This photo was published to tell the world something without actually having to write or say it. It makes the people analysis it themselves instead of the text doing it for them. The argument isn't biased due to the fact that the purpose of the image was to show how increasing population like humans do to this day will limit and eliminate most of our recourses....
