Throughout our lives we are told to listen to people when they talk. When we are young children, some of us are taught to always do what our parents say, without questioning. However, some people could argue that this rigorous education is not the way to educate children, and that instead parents should talk and explain reasons to their children rather than imposing rules. Even though the rigorous type of educating children is not seen well by today’s society, both ways of education are good because they could prevent problems such as bad behavior in most children.
In my case, the type off education I received was always giving me reasons of what I had to do. However, it changed when my parents believed that I was big enough to understand their advice. My parents are always known to have strong morals in life “get straight A’s, be the best that you can be, and always live up to the family name.”
But this new type of education of disobedience changed my behavior. As a consequence, I became rebellious, and during this time I had a problem related to the Internet. Many people have heard about the Internet and the chat rooms. In my case I learned about both from a friend who explained to me many details about them, especially about the chat rooms. I was very interested in her conversation because the idea about “Internet talk” was something new for me, and this interest prompted me to buy a computer. As soon as I finished installing my new computer at home, I logged onto the Internet to “chat”. My first online chat experience was so good, that I was very happy to have bought my new computer. The conversations I had would mainly be about school and what I was doing on the weekends. This guy even tried to hit on me by using cheesy lines like “What’s going on baby, I want to get to know you! Where do you live at Ma?” All I could do was laugh and tell him “I’m not like that and find someone else to holla at because I am not the one.” Even after that...
