War's Result

War’s Token
In order to take a war to victory, there were always sacrifices of the soldiers. The front-line soldiers face danger every day, so that the citizens of their country may be safe. Until recently, there had been many wars that each took many lives. In such wars, people who survived with an injury are the ones who has the most painful lives. Some survived without and eye or a body piece which makes it harder for them to live an ordinary lives.
Every war has its token no matter how good or just the purposes are. Much blood was spilled in religious wars as in the historical remains. In the Crusade War, thousands have participated but only a few was able to survive. Many books or media focuses on the ones who died, however it is the ones who survived that would have more unfortunate lives. The survived would have the guilt of letting their comrades die for the rest of their lives and have physical injury that may make their everyday life harder. A blind man, man without one leg or arm are living every each day in difficult situations.
In certain perspective, the people who survived with an injury actually are more unfortunate than the ones who died. Nowadays, the participants of the war is given governmental support and some reward for the brave actions. However, in the past, going into a war for the country was thought of as a sure thing to do. In addition, soldiers did not receive better treatment from other people except for the high-ranked ones.
From this, I got a lesson that no war can be successful without sacrifices of people and they deserve much better than how they are being treated now. It is of utter importance to raise the benefits of war heroes and normal soldiers. People introduced in the National Geographic (2015 February) are war participants who came back home with a missing body part.
