Abstract
The purpose of this review is to summarize the present literature relevant to web-based-instructional site design, with the goal of delineating general principles and practices that are associated with effective site design. The literature reviewed consists of published accounts of web designers, trainers, and instructors, as well as research in basic education, hypertext, and web based training and instruction.
