What About the Organization’s Culture Appeals to You?

What about the organization’s culture appeals to you?
What appeals to me about the culture of Goodwill in the overall mission. Goodwill is one of the top five nonprofit organizations and a leader in social service enterprise. Unlike what many people think, Goodwill does more than just sell clothing in a thrift store and give out clothes. Goodwill provides community-based programs for people with disabilities, low education or job experience, or those that have employment changes. Goodwill also provides job training and job placement services for the unemployed and the underemployed. Goodwill gives people the opportunity to find good jobs that will enable them to make a suitable living. With that comes the opportunity to have successful family units, which helps to contribute to close nit communities.
What values do you and the organization share?
Goodwill’s values are respect, stewardship, ethics, innovation, and learning. Goodwill and I share all of these values, along with the value of human quality of life. Goodwill and I both believe in helping families. We both feel that people should be given the opportunity to succeed and even excel individually, as well as together as strong families that create close, strong communities
Which of the seven primary characteristics of organizational culture does the organization embody?
Of the seven primary characteristics of organizational culture, Goodwill more embodies people orientation. Goodwill exemplifies people orientation more because Goodwill’s main objective is to help the clients who need help from the organization. Not only that, but the organization does so much to help so many for no profit. Goodwill provides its clients the opportunity to find jobs outside of the organization, or to work for Goodwill.
