Week 2, Discussion 1
Complete the “What is my Learning Style?” assessment and determine what you’re learning style(s) may be. Follow the instructions to read the meaning of your learning style. Share your results, and identify specific things you can do to enhance your learning based on your learning style.
When completing this assessment I learned that I am a Multi-Sensory Learner. I wasn’t surprised with the result I received. A Multi-sensory learner means that in order for me to learn I use all three concepts of learning instead of just one. That includes visuals, auditory and tactile/kinesthetic learning styles. I must be able to see, hear and touch what I'm learning in order to understand the information. I think that’s why I able to learn from the web so well. I can listen to audio, watch you tube videos and I have a touch screen computer at home. In order for me to learn new spelling words or definitions I usually have to write them down and go over it again and again out loud. I believe I must work on my auditory learning side. An auditory learner means that the more the learner is able to hear the information, the easier it may be for that learner to learn the information. In order for me to enhance this side of my learning style I need to get a tape recorder, participate in group discussions and focus while I’m listening. Sometimes I lose focus if someone is just talking to me on how to do something; I like to watch them do it while they explain it. I will have to agree with this assessment it was definitely right on target with my learning style.
