What to do to improve the recycling of waste system in the US
We live in one of the most concerned counties regarding recycling of waste. United States recycling statistics have vastly improved since the first U.S. recycling center opened its door in 1896. Still, there are many areas where we have to work on to improve our recycling of waste system. We must educate ourselves better in recycling of waste, we should create more incentives to increase the practice of recycling of waste, and we should place stricter fines for no recycling.
Education is one of the most important things in our lives. That is why we must educate ourselves better in recycling of waste. The protection of the environment is responsibility of all of us. In our daily lives we do things that causes damage to our environment, but this is happening because of the lack of education in recycling of waste. Although, we try to do our best; we could do better than that if we were well educated in the subject. A well educated population can make a remarkable difference in the protection of our ecosystem. One of the things we have to do to improve in this area is the implementation of programs regarding recycling of waste in our educational system. Furthermore, we can use advertisements to affect the grown population too.
In addition, we should create more incentives to increase the practice of recycling of waste. Many states have passed that establish deposits or refund values on beverage containers while others jurisdictions rely on recycling goals or landfill bans of recyclable materials. However, the recycle incentives are not good enough for a very demanding society like ours. A number of U.S. states, such as California, Hawaii, Oregon, Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Vermont, Massachusetts, Iowa, Michigan and New York have passed these laws that establish deposits or refund values on beverage containers in order to promote reuse and recycling.
