Chess or Jumpman?
One day you’re cleaning out your closet, you find a shelf of all types of games that you didn’t know existed. You search through the pile of computer games or table games, and now you wonder what makes a good game. A good game consists of extreme competition, skillful strategies, and loads of player interaction. The game should make you want to play it again next time, and even though you lose. Now you are about to play your game that you have chosen, will it sit in the closet for another 10 years or will it stand on your table, waiting for your friends to play it next?
There are many types of games in this world such as video games, sports games, and board games. From these games there are many categories like video games has console games, computer games, and handheld games. Sports games can be categorized into ball games, x games, and Olympic Games. Table games could categorize into board games, dice games, or card games. The point is that a game doesn’t have to be a computer game, a sports game, or a table game. If any game will be popular it should have the characteristics described above. Even if you lose you should have the feeling of playing again and again.
What fun is a game without any competition? Also if they were too much competition and no rules there will be mass chaos and no element to the game. Such as if any piece in a chess game could move anywhere and any direction what fun would that become? A game should have restrictions, but at the same time it should have different types of choices that you can make. In any game there are choices, which make the competition fiercer. For example the choices you can make during a game of soccer. You could pass, shoot, dribble, and many more. However there must be consequences or reward to a choice. Each game should also have different tactics and secret weapons, but it is not a must but it makes a game more enjoyable. Such as, Yu Gi Oh, has the god cards which are the strongest.
