Critical Thinking Checklist for Chapter One

1. The purpose of the piece of writing is that they are saying that more people are going to the internet to look for music rather than going to the store and buying the album.
2. Icast, Jimmy and Doug’s farmclub.com are some of the ideas they use to talk about how bands and such are noticed on the internet rather than on the streets or bars.
3. For every website the author tells the reader why they think the website is so good. For example Riffage presents and artist that the staff would usually choose and then the website users would rate the music and write reviews about their music.
4. In the reading I really did not find anything that I disagreed with or unfounded assumptions.
5. Yes because they describe or backed up every idea or conclusion that they had with a lot of examples in how it affected the bands and the websites.
6. Yes the point of view is clear and consistent, and the reading says that there are different websites u can go to promote your music that’s how the other point of views is considered.
7. Yes he was successful in accomplishing the purpose because he had a lot of ideas or facts that supported the main idea or purpose of the reading.
Part 2
Reading the passage and knowing that I had questions at the end made me read more carefully and not just skim threw it, so I would know every single detail that I needed in order to answer each question correctly.
