There have been many White Supremacy Gangs throughout History, from the Anglo-Saxon crusaders to the Nazi’s in World War I and II to the Ku Klux Klan and now to the more present day smaller gangs like the Aryan Brotherhood, and WAR (White Aryan Resistance) and the Skinheads.
The Anglo-Saxon were not necessarily white supremacist during their time but, they believed that everyone was inferior to them and they went around destroying and killing. (Anglo-Saxon History) They somewhat had the same mindset as today’s white street gangs.
The more recent White Supremacists are the Nazi’s and the Ku Klux Klan; both parties caused a great deal of propblems with sosciety and the culture of other races. “The Ku Klux Klan was formed in Pulaski, tennessee, in May of 1866, shortly after the close of the Civil War. The names is loosely based on the college fraternity name “Kuklos Adelphon,” from the Greek language meaning “Circle of Friends.” After a fiery reign of shrouded, night-riding terror lasting thoughout the Reconstruction period, the group fell into a period of relative dormancy.” (O'Deane, 2010. p. 103)
The Nazi reign was not as long lasted, but caused a devistating toll on the Jewish population as well as the world population during both World Wars. “On 30 January 1933, Adolf Hitler legally became Chancellor of Germany, appointed by President Paul von Hindenburg. Although he initially headed a coalition government, he quickly made Hindenburg a figurehead and eliminated his non-Nazi partners. The Nazi regime restored economic prosperity and ended mass unemployment using heavy military spending while suppressing labor unions and strikes. The return of prosperity gave the regime enormous popularity, and no serious citizen opposition ever emerged to serve as a challenge to its rule, apart from a failed assassination attempt in 1944.
