WHO CAN WE BLAME
Growing up I can remember when the price of gas was right under a dollar, that when you could go to the gas pump an actually fill your car up for fifteen dollar, when you could go to the gas station to get gas for your lawnmower and it would cost you a dollar and some change. The price for a barrel of oil when my dad had me cutting grass and raking leafs to make some money was $23.19 in 1993 wow. When I got my first car when I was sixteen years old, I could ride all day without even worrying about the prices of gas. When I was mowing lawn, everyone would let you mow there grass because they can afford it and even give you a nice type if you did a good job. People were able to afford nice half ton pick up trucks and SUV’s. My family and I were able to go visit grandmother 2 to 3 times a year, and go to the beach in the summer on vacation. Vacationing was a nice thing then, because we had money to do more things when on vacation. We were able to go from school to the park then to the grocery store. Life was so much easier back then when the gas prices were much lower than they are now. We were even able to get a snack cake some chips and a cold soda when my dad stops to get gas from the gas station. I think even people were humble and will talk to you while pump gas; I know I have had plenty of conversation at the gas pump when I first stated driving.
Well I guess they say all good things have to come to an end, but why did it have to happen with the gas prices. Do you know what the prices of gas are today? I really hate it for the people out west, because I know it probably a dollar more than what it is in the south. Gas has gotten up to $4.66 were I live, $4.66 I say, to fill my car up that would be $69.90 that sucks.
