Every day in this country, someone is mourning the loss of a loved one that was taken by the hands of another human being. They will spend the rest of their lives imagining their child never being able to attend the prom, or their mother that will never meet her grandchildren, all because someone selfishly took their lives. Is this Justice?

Continuing with capital punishment in this country is the right thing to do for quite a few reasons. The main reason that we should continue with capital punishment in this country, is that: to be eligible for the death penalty, the defendant's crimes must have fallen under the following factors
The murder was especially heinous
The capital offense was one in a series of intentional killings committed by the defendant
The murder was committed in a cold, calculated manner without pretense of moral or legal jurisdiction
The defendant engaged in terrorism
The victim was killed because of his/her race, gender, color, religion, nationality, or sexual orientation.
The murder was committed for pecuniary gain or the promise of payment or something of value
The defendant takes a hostage or uses a human shield
The murder was in context with illegal drug trade or human trafficking
