Why did I choose to go to college? I always knew I would be in college just did not know what college. I’ve Choosen College because my parents told me be are all I could be. I also want to make my family proud and set an example for my brothers and sister. Knowing that I wanted to be in the medical field college wasn’t a choice. I wasn’t sure about college initially because I didn’t know if I was college material or not. When I saw my mother achieved her associate, Bachelor of Science and her master degree being a single parent I know I wanted to follow in her footsteps. I saw her as my role model and see her achieve and being successful I knew that was what I wanted to do. On top if everything else being a single parent and working a full time job she received honors with all of her degrees. Seeing all of this makes me want to go the extra mile. I’ve learned college is what you make it.
Why did I choose to South Carolina state university? South Carolina state university wasn’t a school I knew a lot about like Miami university , savannah state , Armstrong university , Allen university , and Florida state. Where I’m from South Carolina state university is all they talk about. So I decided that I wanted to experience South Carolina state university bulldog pride. I was inspired by a sophomore here I know and she told me it is a very good school. She said here would be a good life experience because of the different things that a student can experience. With her telling me that I did my research and thought about this as a life change. What I researched was it’s a black historical university. Its graduate’s rate shows 2 to 1 out of most university colleges. Also that it offers many different degrees, but the one that interested me the most was biology.
