The Second one are the risk and danger; we are all aware that the military is a risky profession since we are the protector of the people and the state, we are exposed to all kinds of lawless elements of our society such as insurgent, terrorist and other enemy of the state. The risk and danger is part and parcel of our profession as the advocate of peace and order of the society. Whereas I sometimes get that feeling deep down to my gut that we are all part of the one major chess match and we are the pawns that these grandmaster are using and placing in strategic manner to the utmost of their advantage, not giving any care to the fact that “WE” goes hand in hand to the word “Life”, a living and breathing element that has a family, a purpose and a future. That should mean something and not just be means to an end. Now comes the part where I in turn explain my still being connected to this profession. Basically what comes next is simply hoping to reveal the true reason of me choosing to stay when all evidence that has been shown would lead to the conclusion of me wanting to leave. In response to the first matter, the best thing about this profession is providing me with the security of tenure which in the current economic situation it is very crucial. A lot of people are losing their jobs everywhere not only here in our country and especially abroad. One other thing that is good about having this job is the opportunity afforded its people to get study grants and learn more about theircareer path at the same time being paid to do so. To which in other in line of work doesn’t happen much often. Perhaps my loyalty to the military service is being test by the following questions: Why we cannot stop the insurgency? Why is it that our modernization program is not progressing? Where has our retirement fund gone? Who are the real enemy of the states?
