Why I Decided to Pursue My Graduate Degree

I received my bachelors in May of 2003. I knew that I wanted to continue with my education because I would have a better opportunity at being successful in the workforce. The competition is rigid for Bachelor level positions. I know that I have been overlooked numerous of times for positions because I lack a Master’s degree.
I prolonged going back to school because I was a single parent, and I needed to work full-time. Now, four years have past, and I have decided that it was time to complete my goals in life. Six months ago, I started searching for a graduate school to attend. I contacted four different colleges. Of the four colleges, the University of Phoenix was the only to continue to pursue me. I received phone calls after phones from the university.
I delayed working on my master’s. My main concerns were the financing and being able to attend a classroom setting. Time was a major factor. I talked to several of my colleagues who have completed their master’s. They encourage me not to worry about the financing, because the degree would pay for itself. I sit back and watch some of my colleagues who have a master’s degree, and I have envied them. So, that has been motivational as well.
The nearest college campus is 40 minutes from my home. I knew that when I returned to college, it would be in an online format because attending a classroom environment would not be conducive to my schedule. I choose the University of Phoenix because I could complete the program 100% online, and I liked the fact that it was accelerated. I know several people who have completed a program through the University of Phoenix, and they were satisfied with the content and the knowledge they obtained.
