Setting: This story takes place in the city of Oz. Date/ Time Period This story is in a different type of world and they never seem to specify on the time period. But If I were to make a conclusion I would say more modern times anywhere from the 80s- the present. I say this because they are going to college and they go to dances and parties. Who is the antagonist Elphaba is the antagonist after the first act. In the first act she is not a bad girl and tries to help a lot of people, but whenever she tries to help something even worse happens. She also has powers that not a lot of people have and people take advantage of that. After the first act she decides that there is no other way she has to be wicked and that is when she becomes the antagonist. Who is the protagonist Main characters and description. Galinda-at the beginning she seems vain and superficial, as she becomes friends with Elphaba it reveals that she has more depth than that her social personality eventually leads her into being the Good Witch. Elphaba- a misunderstood brilliant girl is born with green skin. Because she is not a social person it eventually leads her into being the Wicked Witch of the West. The Wizard of Oz- This fake wizard makes himself appear as a knowledgeable man, but he is actually the one planning Oz’s silent animal’s oppression. Later in the story he finds out that he is actually Elphaba’s father. Madame Morrible- She is the head mistress of Shiz University who is actually working with the Wizard. Fiyero- A young man who has a rebel attitude who attracts Galinda. He is initially self-absorbed but when he encounters Elphaba it causes him to think a different way, they fall in love. But Elphaba puts a curse on him that turns him into a Scarecrow forever. Nessarose- She is the younger sister of Elphaba. She is a spoiled crippled brat who falls in love with Boq.
