“Without Faith One Cannot Live”
One would ask the question “what is faith?” The Bible states “Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.” (Hebrew 11:1) It can be as simple as sitting on a chair, you can see the chair and believe it’s a chair, but unless you have faith that the chair can do what a chair does then you’re not going to take action and sit on it. Faith allows you to take that action without reservation but being fully conscious.
Faith comes in many forms;not only the belief in God but the belief in your fellow human being. Faith is the acceptance of that which we cannot see and the belief that you will get the toy you were promised even though Christmas was so far away. There is not really anything without faith- no hope for tomorrow, next week, or in ten years. This faith is a driving force in keeping us alive. If we live without faith life would be meaningless. If you do not have faith that you will wake up in the morning and have a good day, what makes each day even worth waking up for? Faith is challenged everyday- it can be as simple as having faith that I will wake up in the morning, that my car will start or the bus will arrive, that I will get to work safely. Faith could be as intense as knowing that God is watching over me and my family, that my children will succeed in life and believing that I am doing the right thing and making good decisions. Faith is important because what else would we do without trusting that everything will be okay. If I have no faith, I have nothing. There are no guarantees in life and most is left to faith. Faith is what gives us the courage to take action and what gives us the hope that there are better things than status quo. This is the truth because there are things around us that we face everyday that make it difficult but if we fight through it we will persevere.
