In today’s society women are define in many different ways. In different cultures and countries women are basically treated as worthless, slaves, and inferior to men. In the US even today with women rights and all; women are still treated less. So many people see them as sex objects only. They degrade them so much that some women may have that self- concept of themselves. On the other hand, many people define women as mothers, intelligent, strong-willed, independent, milti-taskers, trust-worthy, loyal, caring, reliable, hard workers, and some people even see them as “God’s greatest creation!”
Even though, some of these are great qualities of women. Some may not identify themselves as so. So many women often go through things in life that has them question their womanhood. Men often make a women feel as little as possible that a women’s self-esteem deteriorates and they start questioning themselves. Another, thing that can happen is a woman may go through life changes that are unexpected. Can you imagine yourself going through life questioning what is it exactly that you are? You know you are a girl for obvious reasons, but that doesn’t mean u feel or act like a girl.
When I grew up I lived in a house full of guys. I lived with my grandparents for many years, and they had all boys. Since my dad was the oldest of the boys, my uncles were in their teens. As I grew up with them I never had dolls. My uncles had video games, GI Joe’s, and they all played sports. Their main sport was soccer and boxing. They always tell me that as soon as I started to walk I would dribble a ball with my feet. Since I had cousins that were all male as well they would put on the boxing gloves on me; and they would make me fight with one of my many guys’ cousins. I was just a “tuff little girl” they said!
