“Yes We Can” speech
I evaluated President Barack Obama’s speech called “Yes We Can”. The topic of his speech was change in America and he talked about the prosperity and opportunity of the Unites States. He had several main points to make. First, he wanted changes in the health care. He wants to make it available and affordable to everybody. Second he would like to cut taxes and give money to American workers who deserve it. Third he wanted to give more pay to teachers because they take care of our children and put them on the right path. Fourth he wanted to end the war in Iraq and bring our troops home. His audiences are the people of New Hampshire and everywhere else.
Obama’s speech “Yes We Can” was a great speech. He had a good leader voice; his tone called people to listen to him. He spoke clearly and at a good rate which gave everybody a chance to understand. His volume was perfect and his eye contact with the audience was also perfect. He had some trouble with verbal distraction. He tried to look at everybody around him. He had great gestures which help make his point. He spoke with enthusiasm and in return he received good feedback from his audience. Obama’s speech looked like an impromptu speech because I barely saw him looking down at any notes. He didn’t have power point or any visual aid either. He kept eye contact through his whole speech. He made sure that his audience was listening to him so he didn’t just speak for himself. The audience was filled with good listeners. Their applause and laughter after he made a good point showed that they understood him. They respected him because they kept quiet when he talked and they give him great feedback to show that they had understood his point.
Usually when I listen to other people’s speeches, at the end I still have no clue of what their speech was about, but Obama speech’samazed me. At the end of his speech I remembered almost every point...
